Payroll Specialist

hirify.global is building a localized battery supply chain focused on battery recovery, reuse, recycling, energy storage, and battery materials production in the United States.

What you will do

• Review payroll inputs, outputs, controls, tax filings, payments, and reconciliations.
• Analyze payroll data to identify trends, variances, and cost drivers.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc payroll reports for Finance and HR.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting, close activities, and audits.
• Improve payroll processes, controls, system efficiency, automation, and standardization.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, Accounting, IT, and external vendors to maintain accurate data flows.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a mid-sized or large organization.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Paychex, UKG, or Ceridian.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience reconciling payroll to the general ledger.
• Workday payroll experience.
• Familiarity with HRIS and accounting software integrations.
