Senior Electronics Technician (Quantum Computing)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global headquarters in College Park, Maryland, United States; approximately 10% domestic travel. Access to export-controlled technology requires verification of U.S. Person status, an applicable license, or a license exception.

Base salary: $70,852–$82,661 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Assemble and modify PCBs using through-hole and SMT techniques, including fine-pitch soldering, jumpers, component installation, and circuit rework.
• Build custom electro-mechanical control chassis by mounting power supplies, integrating PCBs, and managing thermal interfaces.
• Install electronic assemblies in 19-inch racks and route, dress, terminate, and secure complex cable harnesses.
• Read schematics, wire lists, and mechanical assembly drawings to ensure accurate build configurations.
• Document redlines and assembly best practices, and participate in 5S activities in an ESD-safe production environment.
• Inspect completed work, initiate Non-Conformance Reports, and work with engineering on root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent, plus at least 5 years of hands-on experience in high-tech electronics manufacturing.
• Proficiency with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610, including fine-pitch soldering and handling 28–32 AWG wire.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, crimpers, and torque drivers for precision box-build assembly.
• Ability to interpret complex technical specifications, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in an ESD-controlled environment and familiarity with cleanroom protocols.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets and Microsoft Office for documentation, data collection, and reporting.

Nice to have

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or substantial cable and wire harness assembly experience.
• Experience with New Product Introduction builds and Design for Manufacturing feedback.
• Familiarity with Netsuite MRP, MES, Arena or Agile PLM, and Jira.
• Experience with cryogenic system wiring or vacuum-compatible cabling.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.
