(Senior) Data Center Technician, UK

Location: Onsite in Newcastle, UK. Shift-based rotation covering 24/7 operations.

What you will do

• Install, configure, and maintain GPU servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and structured cabling.
• Diagnose and repair complex faults in enterprise GPU servers, including component-level troubleshooting, RMA handling, and root-cause analysis.
• Perform rack-and-stack work, copper and fibre cabling, hardware refreshes, migrations, and data hall build-outs.
• Monitor temperature, humidity, power, and other data center environmental conditions, responding to alerts during shifts.
• Support 24/7 site uptime as part of a rotating shift team and collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and the Data Center Operations Manager.
• Mentor junior technicians and maintain consistent work quality across shifts.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of progressive data center or IT infrastructure experience with significant hands-on hardware work.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise NVIDIA GPU servers, including Ampere, Hopper, or Blackwell generations.
• Strong diagnostic skills across compute, networking, and cabling systems.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Newcastle on a rotating shift schedule.
• Existing right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Relevant IT or Computer Engineering qualification, such as an apprenticeship, BTEC/HND, or degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with liquid cooling, including DLC loops and maintenance of liquid cooling solutions.
• Experience with large cluster deployments or data hall build-outs.
• Experience mentoring junior technicians.
