Senior Software Engineer, ML Platform (AI)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

Base salary: $189,000–$245,000 annually, plus bonus and equity.

An innovative biotech startup developing generative AI and foundation models for protein therapeutics, drug discovery, biology, and disease research.

What you will do

• Develop and improve systems for dispatching distributed model-training jobs across clusters and multiple clouds.
• Deploy storage subsystems that improve dataset management and training-data throughput.
• Build evaluation infrastructure for executing and tracking model evaluations.
• Create tooling that integrates model training with telemetry, experiment tracking, checkpointing, and other internal infrastructure.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists and engineers to enable effective use of large-scale GPU infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building and deploying machine-learning systems in production.
• Strong programming skills in Python and a solid understanding of machine learning.
• Experience with infrastructure and operations tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with deep-learning frameworks such as Torch and Jax.
• Experience with the infrastructure requirements of large-scale model training.
• Experience leading technical projects, driving cross-functional execution, and collaborating in multidisciplinary environments.
