ML Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; relocation support is available

Salary: $210,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Own ML pipelines end to end, from experimentation through production, including training, inference, and agentic workloads.
• Build reproducible environments and streamlined paths for AI/ML teams to move models and agents from prototypes into production.
• Establish cloud infrastructure as code and CI/CD processes for safe ML deployment.
• Serve and optimize inference and forecasting workloads for latency, throughput, and cost, including asynchronous and parallelized model execution.
• Own data interfaces with data engineering, connecting model inputs and outputs to the broader data platform.
• Make reliability, observability, security, privacy, and production model evaluation standard parts of the platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in MLOps, ML platform, AI infrastructure, or platform engineering on production ML systems.
• Strong ability to write production software and build cloud infrastructure.
• Experience owning production pipelines and evaluating architecture, security, and cost trade-offs.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed data systems, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and containerized production workloads.
• Strong Python skills and experience working in production application codebases such as Ruby or Java.
• Experience productionizing systems developed by research or AI teams and taking high ownership in a fast-moving startup.

Nice to have

• LLMOps tooling, including tracing, prompt and version management, and evaluation harnesses.
• Inference optimization with vLLM, ONNX, or TensorRT, plus GPU and spot-instance economics.
• MLflow, BentoML, Ray, Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka, vector databases, Bedrock, SageMaker, or Vertex AI.
• Experience with multimodal or generative AI in production.
