Senior Software Engineer - Frontend (Automotive)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; hybrid schedule with 1 day per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel are required. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.

Salary: $154,000–$187,000 annual California base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver high-quality internal web applications supporting commercial operations and enterprise workflows.
• Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex front-end systems with strong scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Build shared UI components, design-system patterns, and accessible interfaces across internal tools.
• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, back-end services, and SSO identity systems for secure authentication and authorization.
• Establish development standards through code reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD workflows.
• Own front-end applications and libraries operationally while mentoring and coaching junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience focused on front-end web technologies.
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript or TypeScript and a major front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Strong HTML, CSS, responsive-design, and accessible-interface fundamentals, including WCAG best practices.
• Experience integrating REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs and collaborating with back-end engineers on contracts, performance, and reliability.
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end front-end testing, architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization.
