Global Benefits Director

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Base salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a global benefits strategy aligned with hyper-growth and talent acquisition goals.
• Coordinate benefits programs across the US, Canada, Asia, and EMEA while maintaining local compliance and consistent governance.
• Lead benefits renewals, plan design, benchmarking, vendor negotiations, and open enrollment.
• Manage the 401(k) plan lifecycle, including vendors, compliance testing, audits, employee education, and Form 5500 reporting.
• Design and improve PTO, vacation, sick leave, holiday, parental leave, and other absence programs across jurisdictions.
• Analyze utilization and cost data, support accounting and reporting, and integrate benefits programs during M&A and international expansion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in benefits strategy and administration.
• Strong knowledge of US benefits regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
• Hands-on experience managing 401(k) plans, compliance testing, vendor oversight, and employee education.
• Experience administering PTO and leave programs across multiple states, including working knowledge of California leave laws.
• Experience with global benefits programs, international brokers, HRIS, benefits administration platforms, and benefits analytics.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling benefits programs in high-growth technology or semiconductor companies.
• Experience with international retirement, pension, or provident fund programs.
• CEBS, CBP, or a similar professional benefits certification.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder presentation skills.
