Regulatory Counsel (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with 3 days a week in the office

What you will do

• Prepare FCA and other regulatory submissions, including Appointed Representative/IAR applications, waiver or modification requests, and applications for new permissions.
• Identify and communicate legal and regulatory requirements for new products, markets, and geographies.
• Draft, maintain, version, and approve customer credit documentation, including credit agreements, PCCIs, explanations, statements, and notices.
• Advise the CCO and senior management on regulatory risks, mitigations, governance actions, and remediation.
• Commission and manage external legal advice and incorporate findings into templates and guidance.
• Support commercial agreements, supplier terms, NDAs, and compliance monitoring, including detailed loan-by-loan reviews.

Requirements

• Qualified UK solicitor.
• Strong knowledge and experience of the Consumer Credit Act and FCA Handbook, including CONC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate risks, propose risk-based actions, negotiate with external parties, and reach acceptable outcomes.
• Strong team-player qualities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the Payment Services Directive as relevant to consumer lending activities.
