QA Automation Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and build automated release gates and infrastructure to ensure safe, daily shipping of the platform.
• Develop property-based and generative testing strategies to identify breakage in complex, user-generated workflows.
• Create perceptual comparison systems to verify canvas rendering and node layout without relying on simple pixel diffs.
• Build evaluation harnesses to manage non-determinism in model outputs across varying hardware and drivers.
• Implement continuous verification for the third-party node ecosystem to ensure compatibility.
• Leverage AI agents for exploratory testing and automated test case generation.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Francisco.
• Proven experience building testing or verification infrastructure that other engineers depend on.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or Python.
• Experience with CI systems and build graphs.
• Deep understanding of how to handle flakiness and non-deterministic systems.
• Startup mindset with a focus on ownership and solving problems at scale.

Nice to have

• Experience testing graphics, canvas, or rendering surfaces (WebGL, shaders).
• Background in building evaluation systems for non-deterministic output (golden datasets, judge calibration).
• Experience maintaining open-source projects or plugin ecosystems.
• Prior contributions to or usage of hirify.global.
