Cycle Analyst/Designer (NPSS)

Location: San Luis Obispo, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $115,000–$150,000 for Engineer or $155,000–$195,000 for Senior, plus equity

What you will do

• Improve NPSS cycle models and develop new engine cycle models from scratch.
• Own the cycle deck and provide guidance on engine capability, performance, and improvement.
• Create analytical tools and workflows to accelerate repetitive engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with aerodynamic, structural, and mechanical engineers on engine component design.
• Develop component performance test procedures and analyze test data with simulation tools.
• Communicate cycle results and engine design knowledge to the engineering team and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience using NPSS and 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of engine design, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Must be a U.S. Person and authorized to access U.S. export-controlled information.
• Proficiency with Python.
• Independent, flexible, well-spoken, and motivated to create and improve engineering systems.

Nice to have

• Experience developing compression or turbine system maps.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing.
• Proficiency with NX for product design and engineering.
