System Software Engineer (RISC-V)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan. Applicants must provide satisfactory proof of their right to work in Taiwan. Employment is also subject to authorization for access to export-controlled technology or the company's ability to obtain required export licenses or approvals.

hirify.global develops high-performance RISC-V processor core IPs, compute platforms, and associated software for applications including AI, automotive, data centers, mobile, and consumer products.

What you will do

• Design, develop, upstream, and release system software for hirify.global processors.
• Develop Linux kernel components, device drivers, OpenSBI, U-Boot, and Yocto/OpenEmbedded software.
• Design and evaluate systems including CPUs, interconnects, firewalls, and related IP blocks.
• Collaborate with architecture, hardware engineering, and software engineering teams to refine features.
• Integrate software implementations with existing operating systems such as Linux.

Requirements

• Proven experience with upstream development for high-level operating systems such as Linux.
• Experience working with hardware architecture and engineering teams.
• Experience debugging complex multicore systems using GDB, JTAG, and OpenOCD.
• Experience with Git, Makefiles, the GNU toolchain, and shell scripting.
• Experience with device drivers, virtualization, IOMMUs, power management, or SoC platform security.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCIe, ACPI, UEFI, edk2, and RISC-V server SoCs.
