Sr. Embedded O/S SW Engineer (Embedded Linux)

What you will do

• Integrate, configure, and deploy Linux-based operating systems on embedded devices.
• Define embedded system architectures and partitioning with product teams.
• Configure kernel parameters, system libraries, device drivers, and Yocto-based Linux distributions.
• Deploy Linux images and troubleshoot bootloaders, drivers, system initialization, and third-party compatibility issues.
• Optimize memory footprint, power efficiency, real-time performance, and resource utilization.
• Implement security hardening, monitor vulnerabilities and patches, and maintain open-source license compliance.

Requirements

• Understanding of embedded Linux-based operating systems.
• Experience building and configuring operating systems, integrating packages, and working with drivers.
• Technical knowledge of operating-system hardening, security controls, firewalls, and encryption.
• Knowledge of communication protocols and scripting or programming skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-experts.
• Academic degree in computer science or a comparable qualification; willingness to support business travel of up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Embedded software development experience with C or C++.
• Ability to troubleshoot and modify components across the embedded software stack.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and modern software development practices.
• Interest in implementing, debugging, and optimizing Linux, security, and system-integration features.
