Software Engineer II/III (Java)

Location: Hybrid in Galway, Ireland; 2–3 days per week in the Galway office, with the option to work 2 days remotely.

What you will do

• Build and improve the React-based internal application used by the Customer Experience team.
• Own features end to end across responsive interfaces, Java/Kotlin services, and well-tested APIs.
• Develop integrations with payment, fraud, and tax providers across the eCommerce ecosystem.
• Improve the quality, reliability, scalability, and observability of high-traffic checkout and order flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to deliver software at scale.
• Contribute through code reviews, mentorship, and technical direction.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field and 4+ years of practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Maven, and npm.
• Experience with cloud-scale web microservices, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub, GitHub Actions, AMQP/RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Splunk.
• Strong experience building responsive, accessible, well-tested web applications, backend services, and APIs.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns, plus experience delivering complex projects.
• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, mentoring, and ability to adopt new tools and technologies.
