Senior Software Engineer (C++ gRPC)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States. Due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Salary: $143,000–$215,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own C++ gRPC services powering AI-driven CAD/CAM web applications.
• Integrate CAM/CAD libraries into web services in partnership with product engineering and R&D.
• Deploy and operate C++ services in the cloud using CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure as code.
• Establish engineering standards, improve code quality, and contribute to peer reviews.
• Share C++ expertise and help teammates develop their skills.
• Ship and iterate quickly in an early-stage, automation-first product environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science and 6+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience.
• 6–10 years of professional experience with modern C++, including C++17/20 features.
• Strong systems programming skills in memory management, multithreading, performance profiling, and debugging.
• Experience building C++ web services, backend systems, and gRPC services.
• Experience designing RPC, REST, or GraphQL APIs and leading long-term development of C++ codebases or open-source libraries.
• Familiarity with CMake, dependency management, cloud platforms, containers, Git, and DevOps/SRE practices.

Nice to have

• CAD/CAM file formats, geometric kernels such as OpenCASCADE, machining simulation, or G-code.
• OpenGL, WebGL, three.js, or browser-based 3D rendering experience.
• Startup, early-stage, greenfield, CUDA, HPC, or distributed-compute experience.
