GL Accounting Manager

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $133.2K–$192.8K USD annually for the Bay Area California market; incentive opportunities may also be available.

What you will do

• Own the monthly close for prepaid expenses, accounts payable, accruals, liabilities, and property, plant, and equipment.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, roll-forwards, cutoff analyses, and variance analyses.
• Review IT, technology, engineering, and R&D contracts with Technical Accounting to determine expense, prepaid, capitalization, and accrual treatment.
• Oversee the fixed-asset subledger, including additions, construction in progress, transfers, disposals, depreciation, impairment indicators, and physical counts.
• Coordinate with the AP Manager in Malaysia and cross-functional partners to reconcile invoices, payments, accruals, prepaids, and intercompany balances.
• Maintain close controls, SOX documentation, audit schedules, and process improvements for assigned accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience covering general ledger, close, prepaids, accruals, accounts payable, and PPE accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, account reconciliations, capitalization policies, and close controls.
• Experience with ERP systems, fixed-asset subledgers, prepaid schedules, advanced Excel, SOX compliance, and internal or external audits.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across U.S. and international teams.
• Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Oracle Fusion experience.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
