TL;DR
Material Manager (Aerospace): Leading material handling, inventory control, and logistics operations for low-rate, high-complexity aerospace manufacturing in Pittsburgh with an accent on aerospace material readiness, ERP/MRP transactions, and inventory accuracy. Focus on developing material-handling teams, resolving non-conforming materials with Quality and Engineering, and supporting MRB processes, budgeting, and capacity planning.

Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Applicants must be a U.S. Person under ITAR and EAR requirements and eligible to obtain required export authorizations.

What you will do

  • Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, movement, and daily handling of aerospace materials and components.
  • Lead, mentor, and train material handlers on aerospace handling standards, safety, and FOD prevention.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure material readiness for builds, engineering changes, and configuration updates.
  • Manage ERP/MRP material transactions and maintain accurate inventory reporting.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve non-conforming material issues and support MRB processes.
  • Develop materials management procedures and support budgeting, capacity planning, and resource management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or a related field plus 7+ years of materials experience in a complex R&D or low-rate production environment, or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with inventory reporting systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry items or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the aerospace or Department of Defense industry.
  • Experience complying with Federal Acquisition Regulations and NASA requirements for materials and property compliance.
