Computer-Aided Manufacturing Software Engineer (CAM)

Location: Hybrid or remote within the United States; preferably near Rock Hill, South Carolina, or Seattle, Washington.

Salary: $139,047.33–$208,570.99 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Develop software that automates and simulates CNC machining processes.
• Design high-performance algorithms for advanced manufacturing applications.
• Develop toolpath planning algorithms for CNC machines.
• Build algorithms for local and cloud-based system deployments.
• Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, technologists, and product personnel on digital products.
• Write robust, well-documented production code using standard development tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with computer-aided manufacturing products and technologies.
• High proficiency in production-level C/C++ and at least one additional general-purpose language such as C#, Java, or Python.
• Practical experience with CNC machining.
• Experience with engineering design, physics, and simulation concepts.
• Experience developing software for major 3D data categories, including CAD, CAM, graphics, 3D scanning, physical simulation, or mechanical control systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee due to export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or higher in a technical field.
• Mechanical engineering, physics, design engineering, or machine-shop/factory experience.
• Expertise in toolpath generation and optimization algorithms.
• Experience developing CAM products or automating engineering design and analysis.
• Experience with desktop, container-based, and cloud-based development workflows.
