Proposal Writer

Location: Washington, DC area (DMV), with flexible work and regular attendance at the Arlington, VA office. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility for required ITAR authorizations is required.

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Author RFIs, RFPs, CSOs, and other capture and proposal artifacts for U.S. Government contracts.
• Collaborate with account leads, business development, technical teams, and other stakeholders to develop coordinated content.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear materials for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create persuasive content highlighting product capabilities and solutions to customer needs.
• Convert high-level inputs into compelling proposal content and build adaptable templates from scratch.
• Develop a reusable content repository to improve proposal efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience writing, drafting, and editing proposals for U.S. Government contracts.
• Experience communicating technical concepts through concise and compelling written content.
• Experience collaborating across departments, agencies, roles, and multiple stakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR).
• Ability to learn technical concepts quickly, work with minimal instruction, and produce high-quality artifacts.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Active TS or TS/SCI clearance; SAP experience is an additional advantage.
• Engineering or another STEM bachelor's degree.
• Startup experience or experience with a major U.S. defense contractor, ideally in the space sector.
• Residence in the Washington, DC/DMV area and flexibility to attend the local office regularly.
