Proposal & Content Writer (GovTech)

What you will do

• Own RFP responses end-to-end, from opportunity identification through contract award, including deadlines, coordination, and internal follow-up.
• Research municipalities, including Vision Zero plans, crash data, council priorities, legislation, incumbent vendors, and state statutes.
• Translate legal and regulatory requirements into accurate, tailored proposal language and partner with operations and technical teams to validate deliverability.
• Build a proposal asset library with reusable prose, state compliance language, case studies, data points, graphics, and personnel bios.
• Create a content playbook and write blog posts, op-eds, thought leadership, product explainers, landing pages, and sales collateral.
• Monitor procurement channels and identify relevant opportunities for the sales team.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience spanning structured proposal writing and marketing or editorial content.
• Experience at a fast-growing startup in govtech, public safety, or civic tech, preferably working with go-to-market and product teams.
• Demonstrated success winning contracts against larger competitors through strong proposals.
• Strong municipal research skills and the ability to identify what public agencies care about.
• Ability to read and synthesize regulatory and statutory language and push internal teams for the information needed to strengthen proposals.
• Experience building proposal or content infrastructure from scratch, including templates, asset banks, and compliance trackers.
