Data Strategist

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and acquire differentiated datasets from vendors, brokers, exchanges, and other counterparties.
• Hunt for new data sources, relationships, and content that can create value.
• Build and maintain relationships with data providers and market participants.
• Lead commercial discussions and negotiate data agreements.
• Collaborate with research and technology teams to assess dataset fit and value.
• Drive data-sourcing initiatives in priority domains and develop expertise in providers, use cases, gaps, and opportunities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data sourcing, market data, broker data, quantitative research data, vendor management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data sources, dataset evaluation, and quantitative research or systematic trading use cases.
• Experience working with external counterparties and internal research, legal, business, and technology teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Python, SQL, or similar data-analysis tools.
