Head of Construction, Facilities

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite 4 to 5 days per week

Salary: $140,000–$260,000 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Lead regional construction teams and third-party general contractors across manufacturing floors, cleanrooms, test facilities, offices, and shared spaces.
• Own facilities maintenance for production and workplace environments, prioritizing operational uptime and responsiveness.
• Develop and scale construction and maintenance teams in line with the regional project pipeline.
• Define and govern construction and maintenance standards, processes, quality controls, and uptime expectations across multiple sites.
• Direct project management, pricing, estimating, scheduling, and execution from schematic completion through go-live while sustaining facility operations.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, workplace, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate operational, brand, security, and compliance requirements into built environments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of construction experience spanning industrial or manufacturing facilities, high-tech or mission-critical environments, and commercial or workplace buildouts.
• Experience delivering cleanrooms, test facilities, or other specialized or secure production environments.
• Experience managing people and facilities maintenance operations, including teams responsible for uptime and responsiveness KPIs.
• Proven ability to lead strategy and hands-on project execution, manage general contractors, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Strong command of project management, pricing, estimating, scheduling, construction standards, and the full design and construction lifecycle.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.
