Senior Backend Engineer - Platform & Infrastructure (AWS)

Location: Fully remote across the United States

Salary: $170,000–$195,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain internal and public-facing platform services and infrastructure.
• Lead projects from conception through production deployment.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and observability.
• Create strong developer experiences through dashboards, documentation, APIs, and SDKs.
• Participate in platform on-call, code reviews, design reviews, and security reviews.
• Coach teammates and contribute to technical decisions and architectural discussions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with technical leadership and architectural contributions.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, Terraform, Docker, and infrastructure as code.
• Professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience building and operating FaaS environments such as AWS Lambda.
• Experience building and evolving large-scale distributed production systems.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, maintainable code, and engineering best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, GraphQL, or GitLab CI/CD.
• A professional GitHub profile or similar portfolio.
• Experience using AI coding agents to accelerate development.
