Production Manager (Manufacturing Engineering)

Manufacturer in the textiles and apparel sector supplying technical textile components to industrial customers in automotive, medical, and industrial filtration markets.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day engineering activities across multiple production lines, prioritising work to maintain output and product quality.
• Oversee reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance programmes, including completion and documentation.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults and provide hands-on technical support when required.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of engineers and technicians while promoting safe working practices.
• Plan and deliver small to medium capital and improvement projects, including scoping, cost estimation, and supplier coordination.
• Improve maintenance records, failure analysis, and root cause investigations while coordinating with production planning, quality, supply chain, contractors, and equipment vendors.

Requirements

• Experience in an engineering or maintenance lead role within a manufacturing environment, ideally textiles, processing, or a related sector.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills with hands-on workshop tools and equipment experience.
• Experience managing, coaching, and providing performance feedback to a small team of technicians or engineers.
• Practical experience planning and delivering small capital projects and improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems, fault reporting, and root cause analysis.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
