Location: Guildford, with hybrid working requiring at least one day per week in the office, regular customer visits, national travel, and overnight stays. Interviews and presentations may take place in Manchester, London, or Milton Keynes.
Salary: £49,900–£57,200 in Guildford, Milton Keynes, or London; £47,895–£55,000 in Manchester.

What you will do
- Lead the Business, Economics and Accounting subject area and set measurable annual plans aligned with organisational strategy and reform priorities.
- Lead and develop a small team of subject specialists, including performance management, capability building, and resource deployment.
- Design customer engagement strategies using insight, data, reports, and dashboards to improve engagement, retention, growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Build long-term relationships with schools, subject associations, learned societies, teachers, and other external stakeholders.
- Represent at conferences, stakeholder events, training sessions, and wider organisational projects.
- Provide subject expertise and customer insight to Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Training, and Events teams.
Requirements
- Recent experience leading a Business or Economics department, with strong knowledge of GCSE and A Level specifications, assessment practice, and current pedagogy.
- People leadership experience, including coaching, developing team capability, and managing performance.
- Teaching experience or demonstrated credibility with teachers and education stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness, customer-centric thinking, and the ability to turn insight into measurable outcomes.
- Strong communication, presentation, training, stakeholder management, influencing, planning, and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to interpret data, manage risks and dependencies, lead projects, and adapt plans in ambiguous or changing situations.

Hiring process
