Senior Backend Engineer (Python & Node.js)

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; hybrid with typically 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Build, test, deploy, maintain, and improve backend services and APIs used by native mobile applications.
• Design and implement large software components, systems, and user-facing features.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables autonomously.
• Resolve challenging technical issues and contribute to a high-quality codebase.
• Review code, provide developer feedback, and mentor teammates through technical contributions.
• Support a culture of quality, innovation, continuous deployment, and test-driven development.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience with Python and Node.js, with the ability to adapt to the current technology stack.
• Experience with microservices, NoSQL datastores, and data modelling.
• Experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP and Docker.
• Professional and personal fluency in English.
• Experience with code reviews and working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience using LLM APIs such as Vertex AI or OpenAI API.
