Senior HVAC Development Engineer (Climate Technology)

Location: Arden Hills, Minnesota, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday, with a flexible work location on Fridays. Some travel within the Midwest, including occasional overnight stays, is required.

Annual base salary: $81,800–$146,720. Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commission.

What you will do

• Lead complex energy, infrastructure, and facility modernization opportunities from qualification through contract execution.
• Assess mechanical, electrical, and building systems to identify operational risks, deferred maintenance, lifecycle opportunities, and capital improvement needs.
• Develop HVAC modernization, building automation, energy efficiency, electrification, sustainability, resilience, renewable energy, and intelligent building solutions.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, estimators, operations teams, consultants, trade partners, and utility organizations to improve constructability and reduce delivery risk.
• Build business cases using lifecycle costs, funding strategies, energy performance, operational impact, and return on investment; quantify and submit utility rebates.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert in customer presentations, design reviews, workshops, and solution discussions, while supporting project transitions and junior team members.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience developing building, energy, infrastructure, or HVAC solutions.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, building systems, relevant codes, and standards.
• Ability to evaluate project phasing, constructability, implementation challenges, risks, costs, and financials.
• Ability to collaborate with customers, technical experts, contractors, estimators, project managers, and external partners.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations in the previous three years.
• Monday–Thursday onsite work in Arden Hills, Minnesota, plus Midwest travel, is required.
