Sr. Controls Technician -Ashland, VA

Location: Ashland, Virginia; field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations.

Hourly base pay: $48.12–$65.12

What you will do

• Commission, program, configure graphics and communications links, test, troubleshoot, and service assigned HVAC controls projects.
• Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation, and project closeout requirements.
• Diagnose and repair equipment and direct digital control systems at customer locations while serving as the direct customer contact.
• Coordinate with the team leader and customers to review building layouts, anticipate issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site installation and repair work.
• Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and enforce high safety standards while protecting company assets.
• Work overtime and weekends as required, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a certificate from an accredited technical school.
• At least 7 years of HVAC or controls experience; technical school or formal training is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions during the previous 3 years.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with direct digital control systems.
