Controls Installation Technician (HVAC/Controls)

Location: Field-based work in Mobile, Alabama, at customer locations; service area includes Troy, Dothan, Alabama, and surrounding areas. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays are required.

Hourly base pay: $21.96–$33.97

What you will do

• Install building automation and temperature control systems, including conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices.
• Interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications and prepare materials and work areas for on-site installation.
• Coordinate installation activities with customers, colleagues, and other trades.
• Service, diagnose, analyze, and repair control equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Maintain inventory, company vehicles, tools, equipment, records, and required job documentation.
• Follow strict safety and asset-accountability procedures and remain flexible for overtime and business-required work weeks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 2–5 years of HVAC or controls experience.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electricity, electronics, board-level troubleshooting, direct digital controls, and building control techniques.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and handheld devices such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
• Ability to travel regularly, work at customer sites, and occasionally stay overnight.

Nice to have

• Technical school or formal technical training.
• Electrical or mechanical experience.
• Previous experience with DDC control systems.
