TL;DR

Lead Data Engineer (AWS/Snowflake): Designing and operationalizing data engineering solutions, ingestion pipelines, and analytics platforms with an accent on data architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and cloud data warehouses. Focus on implementing Snowflake and dbt capabilities, improving data quality and observability, and building scalable automation and governance practices.

Location: Miami, Florida, United States; travel up to 10% to hirify.global divisions

What you will do

Provide technical leadership for the enterprise data platform engineering team.
Design, build, and operationalize data engineering solutions for data and analytics platforms and products.
Architect ETL, ELT, streaming, incremental, and CDC ingestion processes across multiple data sources.
Develop data models, cloud data lake and warehouse solutions, and integrations for analysts and data scientists.
Implement monitoring, metrics, error handling, data quality, maintainability, and extensibility improvements.
Define engineering standards for modular code, version control, testing, CI/CD automation, code reviews, and data governance.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, transformations, ETL, monitoring, SDLC practices, code reviews, and QA/testing methodologies; 12+ years preferred.
At least 3 years of experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, EMR, EKS, Glue, Lambda, AppFlow, and CloudWatch; 6+ years preferred.
Strong experience with Snowflake, including virtual warehouse strategies, data sharing, Time Travel, zero-copy cloning, account administration, and role-based access control.
Strong experience managing dbt Cloud environments, multi-repository projects, dbt models, and dbt macros.
Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in REST APIs, data ingestion, version control, branching strategies, security, compliance, and governance.
At least 1 year of experience with orchestration and scheduling tools such as Prefect or Airflow and with Qlik Replicate.

Nice to have

AWS certification.
Experience with GitHub and Airflow.
