Frontend Lead (React)

Location: Remote

Compensation: $80–$100 per hour, depending on skill set and expertise.

What you will do

• Lead front-end engineering for new public websites for credit unions and other financial institutions.
• Build reusable, CMS-driven components and page templates connected to structured content and CMS APIs.
• Translate UX and design systems into robust component libraries and responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.
• Integrate web journeys with digital banking, account-opening, and other credit union platforms.
• Establish front-end architecture, coding standards, development practices, and reusable components for future migrations.
• Support code reviews, mentoring, testing, CI/CD collaboration, migration testing, launches, and post-launch stabilization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of modern front-end development experience.
• Strong React and TypeScript experience; strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Experience building enterprise-scale responsive websites and integrating CMS platforms through REST or GraphQL.
• Strong component architecture and design-system experience.
• Expertise in accessibility, including WCAG compliance, as well as SEO, performance optimization, and analytics.
• Experience with enterprise security or regulated environments; financial-services experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Next.js experience.
• Experience with AEM, Sitecore, Kentico, Drupal, Sanity, dotCMS, Umbraco, or a similar CMS platform.
