Senior Frontend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: London, UK; hybrid with 3 days a week in the office

Builds consumer lending products using AI and Open Banking data to provide fair, affordable personal finance, with a focus on mortgage products and expansion into new markets.

What you will do

• Build and ship product features with React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Tailwind.
• Lead frontend projects from product concept and technical design through implementation, testing, launch, and iteration.
• Work with product, backend engineering, and business stakeholders to simplify complex mortgage journeys.
• Apply strong UI/UX judgment to create fast, intuitive, trustworthy, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Champion frontend architecture, component systems, performance, accessibility, and developer experience.
• Raise frontend engineering standards through clean code, thoughtful reviews, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience building production web applications with React.
• Advanced hands-on TypeScript experience and experience working with GraphQL APIs.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimisation.
• Experience with modern testing frameworks, including integration and end-to-end testing.
• Good understanding of design details, interaction, responsiveness, accessibility, and product polish.
• Product-minded approach, ownership, accountability, and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into shippable solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, lending, mortgages, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with Python or contributions to backend services.
• Experience in early-stage or fast-moving product teams.
• Familiarity with user analytics, feature flagging, and observability tools.
• Data-driven decision-making and openness to how AI will reshape products.
