What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of complex, large-dollar commercial loan and deposit relationships.
• Interview applicants, evaluate business and credit information, and make relationship recommendations.
• Build M&T Bank’s brand and commercial portfolio in the Central Virginia market.
• Maintain a high-quality loan portfolio, monitor compliance with loan terms, and keep credit files current.
• Develop new loan, deposit, and fee-based business through a formal calling program.
• Partner with the Government Contracting segment head to build and support the line of business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience.
• At least seven years of commercial portfolio management experience.
• Knowledge of financial analysis, banking credit principles, bank policies, and commercial fee-based products.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and sales skills.
• Ability to manage and retain existing clients and collaborate with internal contacts.

Nice to have

• Experience coaching or mentoring junior relationship managers.
• Knowledge of the government contracting banking segment.
