Engineering Technician - Maintenance P3 - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan; on-site five days per week. Second shift: Monday–Thursday, approximately 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m.; overtime and occasional off-shift or weekend work may be required.

Hourly base pay: $24.76–$29.60.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, analyze, and repair mechanical and electrical production equipment, tools, machinery, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose malfunctions using work orders, observations, manuals, schematics, and technical prints.
• Support machine repair and electrical trade activities across multiple production lines.
• Coordinate with supervisors, internal customers, outside service providers, and equipment representatives on repairs and installations.
• Prepare bills of material and purchase requisitions for major maintenance work.
• Handle materials with hoists, lifts, fork trucks, carts, and hand trucks while following plant lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an electrical or machining maintenance environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment and competency in machine repair and electrical trades in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, remain on the feet for extended periods, and perform physical equipment-access tasks.
• Ability to work safely on-site, wear required PPE, and complete additional drug screening for this safety-sensitive role.

Nice to have

• Journeyman’s certificate.
• Degree in Maintenance Technology or equivalent education.
