Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) (Manufacturing)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States. On-site five days per week.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair manufacturing machinery, automated computerized controls, facility equipment, buildings, and grounds.
• Perform major electrical, mechanical, and construction repairs and installations using schematics and blueprints.
• Troubleshoot drive-related issues to the component level on Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, and other controller systems.
• Determine failure root causes, document findings in the work order system, and recommend preventive actions.
• Perform preventive maintenance independently and coordinate equipment repairs with supervisors, internal customers, and external service representatives.
• Prepare alteration sketches, bills of material, purchase requisitions, and safely move materials using material-handling equipment while following the plant lockout/tagout plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong mechanical skills and basic electrical skills.
• Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external associates and move throughout the work facility.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to participate in continuous learning and maintain a safety-sensitive work environment, which may require additional drug screening.

Nice to have

• Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent.
• Industrial machinery maintenance experience.
• Three or more years of maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
