Electrical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Penang, Malaysia; occasional travel may be required to support suppliers, manufacturing partners, testing, and validation.

Salary: MYR 144,301–225,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide hands-on electrical engineering support for manufacturing builds, NPI activities, and sustaining production in Malaysia.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures across PCBAs, harnesses, power systems, and electromechanical assemblies, driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Plan and execute EMI pre-scan activities, isolate emission sources, and support grounding, shielding, filtering, layout, and cable-routing improvements.
• Guide the development, debugging, and improvement of IAC test fixtures and manufacturing test stations.
• Partner with contract manufacturers, suppliers, test partners, and cross-functional engineering teams to improve production readiness and hardware reliability.
• Create and maintain test procedures, troubleshooting guides, engineering documentation, and validation records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, hardware validation, manufacturing support, or test engineering for electromechanical products.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems in laboratory, manufacturing, or field environments.
• Experience supporting contract manufacturers, suppliers, or production lines for electronic products.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC pre-scan testing, laboratory setup, electrical debugging, and compliance-oriented validation.
• Experience with PCBAs, power distribution, cables, harnesses, embedded hardware, schematics, wiring diagrams, and laboratory test equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, automation, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or other complex electromechanical industries.
• Experience with design for manufacturing, design for test, production test methodologies, or EMC mitigation.
• Experience developing electrical test fixtures, manufacturing test stations, or validation setups.
• Experience developing test automation tools with Python, LabVIEW, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with PLM, ECO, or hardware change-management workflows.
