Internship - Software Development (Embedded)

Location: Onsite at the KL COE Office in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain firmware for enterprise hard disk drives.
• Implement data structures, software algorithms, data paths, and hardware-core drivers using C++ and Python.
• Apply unit testing, continuous integration, and Agile development practices.
• Investigate complex technical problems from initial problem statement through conclusions.
• Create firmware design documentation and develop functionality and compatibility testing strategies for complex drive features.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of C, object-oriented programming, C++, Python, data structures, algorithms, and multithreaded programming.
• Strong problem-solving skills, algorithm design ability, and understanding of complexity analysis.
• Ability to learn new firmware, hardware, systems, tools, methodologies, and complex code quickly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of Agile practices.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of microcontroller architecture, including ARM or ARC.
• Embedded firmware development and RTOS experience.
• Knowledge of data analytics, data visualization, or machine learning.
