Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, requiring two days per week in the San Francisco office every Tuesday and Wednesday. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 base pay per year, excluding bonus, benefits, and perks.

hirify.global is a marketplace platform connecting clients with Taskers for home services such as furniture assembly, handyman work, and moving help.

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines and models covering client home profiles, job history, weather, life events, moves, and other seasonal signals.
• Prepare data models for machine learning predictions about which home service a client may need and when.
• Connect personalization signals to email, SMS, push, onsite, CRM, and marketing channels.
• Develop dbt models and semantic layers to launch and measure in-market product experiments.
• Use AI coding assistants to scaffold pipelines, write tests, review code, and accelerate delivery from hypotheses to live tests.
• Document the data foundation and contribute to the roadmap while collaborating with Product, Design, Marketing, BizOps, Machine Learning, and Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience building and maintaining ELT pipelines with tools such as dbt, Airflow, and Fivetran.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or an equivalent cloud data warehouse.
• Strong data modeling skills, including dimensional modeling and star or snowflake schemas.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Regular use of AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code, including prompting, reviewing, and validating generated code.
• Comfort working in an ambiguous, discovery-stage environment and familiarity with BI or semantic-layer tools such as Looker, Mode, or Tableau.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis and real-time data processing.
