R&D Quality & Reliability Engineer (Silicon Photonics)

Salary: USD 121,900–195,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Drive the quality and reliability strategy for the silicon photonics product portfolio.
• Manage end-to-end reliability qualification for silicon photonics devices, transceivers, co-packaged optics, and related technologies.
• Develop qualification plans, reports, reliability assessments, and stress strategies for EIC and Optical Engine die.
• Lead failure analysis investigations through root-cause identification and corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with development and manufacturing teams on product transfers, new product introductions, and high-volume production ramps.
• Support Product/Process Qualifications, Change Management, customer visits, audits, and regular quality reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Expertise in quality and reliability for silicon photonics, semiconductor photodiodes, modulators, heaters, waveguides, lasers, fiber optics, wafer fabrication, IC packaging, or related technologies.
• Experience with device, chip, and circuit reliability; design for reliability; design for test; semiconductor characterization; and reliability qualification testing.
• Advanced statistical analysis skills using JMP, Python, R, or MATLAB, plus database development for high-volume manufacturing support.
• Strong failure analysis, communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and willingness to travel up to 10%.
