What you will do

• Develop, execute, and document automated optical and electrical test plans for silicon photonic integrated circuits.
• Control instruments, sequence tests, acquire data, and perform analysis in a Linux environment using Python and C/C++.
• Characterize photonic devices and circuits, including electrical, optical, electro-optic, coupling, loss, responsivity, and bandwidth measurements.
• Improve high-speed test methods using vector network analyzers, lasers, oscilloscopes, optical analyzers, probe stations, and RF/optical probes.
• Support calibration, de-embedding, correlation, repeatability, uncertainty evaluation, troubleshooting, and cross-functional technical reviews.
• Analyze large datasets with AI and statistical methods to identify trends, outliers, correlations, and sources of variation.

Requirements

• Graduating in 2027 with a bachelor's degree in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, photonics, optical engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
• English fluency required for written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of silicon photonics, optical and electrical device characterization, high-speed or mm-wave circuits, statistics, and experimental test methodology.
• Programming experience in Linux using Python and C/C++.
• Strong communication, planning, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

• Related internship, co-op, laboratory, capstone, or research experience.
• Leadership experience in the workplace, academic projects, or competitions.
• Experience with R or Perl.
• Interest in AI tools and emerging technologies.
