Solutions Architect (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the San Francisco office every Tuesday and Wednesday. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base pay annually, excluding bonus, benefits, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Represent the Architecture team within assigned engineering teams and drive platform modernization aligned with the Target State Architecture.
• Apply AI tooling and Spec-Driven Development practices to modernize platform components.
• Pair directly with engineers and technical leaders to unblock work and transfer architectural patterns into practice.
• Advise on migration approaches, sequencing, risks, and architecture decisions.
• Write and review Technical Design Documents and RFCs while coaching proposal authors.
• Define repeatable standards for tooling, coding, AI usage, processes, and documentation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience focused on building and scaling backend systems.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, containerization, and containerized application deployment.
• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js, or another strongly typed language such as Java or .NET.
• Professional experience applying AI tooling and AI-assisted development practices.
• Strong communication, consensus-building, and technical design discussion skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes, NestJS, Helm, ArgoCD, or Datadog experience.
• Experience with Spec-Driven Development tools such as SpecKit, OpenSpec, Intent, or Kiro.
• Experience with contract-first design using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
