Engineering Technician (Power Distribution)

Location: Dallas, Texas, USA; onsite work on the production floor and at job sites

Crown Technical Systems, a Flex company, develops customized power distribution and protection systems, including relay and control panels, medium-voltage switchgear, and E-Houses.

What you will do

• Perform complex engineering tests, equipment checkouts, and development engineering tasks.
• Collect and analyze test data, identify problems, and implement corrective changes.
• Review blueprints and project instructions to define test specifications, procedures, equipment, and possible design solutions.
• Fabricate, assemble, modify, and adjust mechanical components and equipment to meet design specifications.
• Document test procedures, results, data, recommendations, software revisions, and equipment updates.
• Support engineers with hardware and software required to test customer products and train technicians and operators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in technical, trade, or engineering work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software for preparing test reports and proposals.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Must wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, on the production floor and at job sites.
