Electrician, Construction (Colossus)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Onsite construction work at the Colossus site; frequent overtime and weekend support are required.

What you will do

• Install, terminate, and land substation and campus electrical equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, relays, buswork, control systems, and batteries.
• Install conduit, cable tray, cables, wires, terminations, underground duct banks, trenches, and cable pulls from issued-for-construction drawings.
• Perform medium-voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV during construction and first energization, including equipment isolation, grounding, restoration, and turnover.
• Perform installation quality checks, electrical testing, acceptance testing, commissioning support, and punch-list closeout.
• Read construction drawings, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work orders; document test results and as-built markups.
• Operate tools, vehicles, and specialized equipment while following site safety procedures and coordinating with engineers and vendors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience working as a licensed electrician.
• Medium-voltage electrical experience, including switching and operations.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, climb ladders or lifts, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in exposure to fumes, odors, noise, heat, cold, and rain.
• Strong safety focus, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in teams.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance technology.
• Journeyman or master electrician license.
• Switching and operations experience on substation, industrial, or utility systems up to 161 kV.
• Industrial, substation, or data center construction experience with medium-voltage systems.
• Experience reading prints, manuals, and one-lines and using common electrical test tools.
