Shipping Specialist (Data Center Operations)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee or Southaven, Mississippi, United States. Onsite warehouse and data center work with rotating 12.5-hour shifts: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM or 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. The schedule follows 4 days on/3 days off, then 3 days on/4 days off, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed for 24/7 operations.

What you will do

• Process inbound and outbound materials through ERP/WMS systems in coordination with procurement, construction, facilities, and operations teams.
• Package, label, manifest, and inspect parcel, LTL, and large freight shipments, including high-value and sensitive data center equipment.
• Schedule carrier and freight-forwarder movements, prepare shipping documentation, and monitor deliveries from pickup through receipt.
• Determine efficient shipping methods, resolve delays, customs issues, route problems, rush orders, and other transportation challenges.
• Perform cycle counts, maintain inventory accuracy, operate forklifts and material-handling equipment, and apply appropriate hazmat and sensitive-material procedures.
• Provide shipment updates, coordinate with internal material handlers and drivers, and recommend process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing, or materials management.
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, documentation, freight coordination, and inventory control.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. unassisted and perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, and carrying.
• Availability for rotating 12.5-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
• Ability to work onsite in warehouse and data center environments with varying temperatures and noise.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree and experience in freight, expedited shipping, or high-volume manufacturing, technology, or data center environments.
• Experience with international shipping, export regulations, and customs documentation.
• Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, MyDHL, or similar shipping software and ERP/WMS systems.
• Forklift or material-handling equipment certification, plus hazmat awareness or relevant certification.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
