Physical Security Manager

Location: On-site in Torrance, California; the posting also lists Los Angeles, CA.

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Manage the contract security vendor, including post orders, patrol plans, performance checks, and contract standards.
• Walk the site, identify and prioritize security gaps involving doors, openings, and daily security practices, and drive remediation.
• Lead on-site responses to security incidents and events as the first security leader on scene, and prepare clear documentation.
• Maintain badge access, visitor management, key control, contractor escorts, and controlled-area procedures with the Facility Security Officer.
• Build relationships with local law enforcement, fire services, emergency services, and internal partners across site leadership, Facilities, EH&S, and People.
• Own a security program area across hirify.global sites, such as investigations, workplace violence prevention, vendor management, budgeting, or security training.

Requirements

• 5+ years of corporate, industrial, or government security experience, including experience leading a site or contract security team.
• Experience building or improving a security program, beyond operating a post or site.
• Hands-on experience with access control, video management, and visitor management systems.
• Sound incident judgment and clear writing skills for incident reports, findings, and actionable post orders.
• Comfort working on a production floor and responding after hours when needed.
• Ability to hold vendors to high standards while maintaining strong working relationships.
• Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Background in intelligence, investigations, workplace violence prevention, or security training.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing.
• Experience with export-controlled or other controlled environments.
• Experience with California workplace violence prevention requirements, including SB 553.
• PSP or CPP certification.
