National Security Strategist

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Hybrid work with an expectation of approximately two days per week from an HPE office.

Base salary: USD 119,500–275,000 annual in the District of Columbia. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Lead national security policy initiatives involving networking, AI, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, export controls, and strategic sales to the US government.
• Build relationships with White House, Department of War, intelligence agency, and Congressional stakeholders.
• Represent HPE in legislative and regulatory matters related to defense, national security, procurement, and appropriations.
• Interpret laws and regulations, collaborate with legal teams, and address regulatory risks affecting federal business.
• Develop corporate policy positions and action plans supporting market access and growth with federal and intelligence customers.
• Enable sales teams through policy guidance, advocacy, compliance support, and strategic communications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, or advocacy focused on national security, defense, or intelligence.
• Degree in Law, Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of laws and regulations, especially export controls and cybersecurity.
• Experience supporting sales enablement and compliance for federal and intelligence customers.
• Knowledge of Congressional legislative processes, the federal budget, and appropriations.
• Technology industry experience with expertise in IT policy, cybersecurity, networking, organization, and project management.
