TL;DR
National Security Strategist (National Security Policy): Leading HPE’s national security policy initiatives across networking, AI, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, export controls, and strategic US government sales with an accent on government relations, regulatory analysis, and policy advocacy. Focus on influencing federal stakeholders, developing corporate positions, advising on export controls, and enabling compliant technology sales to defense and intelligence customers.
Location: United States of America, District of Columbia; hybrid with an expectation of working an average of 2 days per week from an office
Salary: USD 119,500–275,000 annual base salary in the United States of America, District of Columbia. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do
- Lead ’s national security policy initiatives across networking, AI, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, export controls, and strategic US government sales.
- Build relationships with White House, Department of War, intelligence agency, and Congressional stakeholders.
- Represent in legislative and regulatory matters involving national security, defense, procurement, and appropriations.
- Interpret laws and regulations, advise on export controls and cybersecurity compliance, and address emerging federal-sector risks.
- Develop corporate positions and action plans supporting market access and growth with federal and intelligence customers.
- Support sales teams with policy guidance, advocacy, strategic communications, and positioning of secure technology solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, or advocacy focused on national security, defense, or intelligence.
- Degree in law, public policy, economics, political science, or a relevant field.
- Strong experience interpreting laws and regulations, particularly export controls and cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience supporting sales enablement and compliance for federal and intelligence customers.
- Knowledge of Congressional legislative processes, the federal budget, and appropriations.
- Technology-industry experience with expertise in IT policy, cybersecurity, and networking, plus strong project management and execution skills.
