Power BI / BI Developer

Location: Fully remote within the United States

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize front-end data pipelines and processes feeding enterprise Power BI dashboards.
• Configure and troubleshoot Power BI Data Gateways, data source connections, refresh schedules, and dataset connections.
• Build and maintain SSIS data integration packages and SSAS tabular data models.
• Query, extract, and transform data from MySQL, SAS, and relational database platforms.
• Assess dashboard update feasibility, estimate delivery timelines, and support governance committee decisions.
• Create deployment packages and instructions while assisting with infrastructure migrations, system updates, and database maintenance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing, configuring, and optimizing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• 5+ years of experience with Power BI Data Gateways, SSIS, SSAS, MySQL, SAS, and technical documentation.
• 3+ years of experience with the Ed-Fi Data Standard and Educator Preparation Data Model.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, estimation, and documentation skills.
• Ability to consult with stakeholders and business analysts, gather requirements, and create system specifications and data dictionaries.

Nice to have

• Experience in state agency, public sector, or education data environments.
• Experience with Smartsheet for project management and task tracking.
• Experience with Microsoft .NET development and statewide education data exchange platforms.
