Billing Specialist II

Location: Remote; candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio

Salary: $20.50–$21.50 per hour

What you will do

• Generate advertising billing files for assigned newspaper properties and verify data accuracy before submission.
• Perform month-end processing, transmit statement files for eInvoicing, and assist with unapplied payment adjustments.
• Manage wrong-rate and rating-error queues in Mactive and release approved ads to print.
• Review contracts and rates, research billing issues, and serve as the primary contact for local advertising departments.
• Train new employees on system use and data entry.
• Test and research projects, system upgrades, and billing-system changes.

Requirements

• Knowledge of accounting processes and controls.
• Ability to interpret process manuals, policies, correspondence, and financial documents.
• Ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas.
• Strong problem-solving, attention-to-detail, interpersonal, collaboration, and customer-service skills.
• Associate’s degree or two years of experience within hirify.global required; a bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent education and experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of automated billing systems, particularly Mactive or PBS, is preferred.
