Senior Software Engineering Manager - Core Cloud Services (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Hybrid work from one of hirify.global's United States offices at least 3 days per week, including Mountain View, Bozeman, Coppell, Livonia, Louisville, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Salary: $212,000–$340,000 per year, plus annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 8–10 software engineers through hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable cloud backend services for autonomous vehicle fleet management.
• Build systems supporting real-time and offline workflows, fleet optimization, commercial operations, and autonomy improvement.
• Drive delivery of reliable, well-engineered incremental features and greenfield products.
• Partner with software, hardware, infrastructure, product, design, autonomy, and operations teams on technical vision and roadmap execution.
• Champion engineering excellence, collaboration, safety, and end-to-end ownership.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years managing teams of 5+ engineers.
• Deep expertise in cloud backend development, scalable web services, distributed systems, and modern API design.
• Experience delivering customer-facing software to production and working with Product Management and UI/UX teams.
• Experience defining technical roadmaps and leading strategic projects across multiple engineering teams.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the United States is required; the role requires regular office presence.

Nice to have

• Experience in transportation, logistics, or other time-sensitive operations.
• Experience with safety-critical applications or fleet management for robots, vehicles, or aerial drones.
• Experience with operations research or optimization algorithms.
