Senior Engineering Manager (Data Platform)

What you will do

• Build and lead the Data Platform team responsible for ingestion, CDC, event streaming, warehouses, lakehouses, orchestration, data contracts, quality, lineage, and foundational data models.
• Own the platform roadmap and delivery across Software, Infrastructure, Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, ML, and Manufacturing.
• Improve reliability, data-quality SLAs, observability, incident response, recovery, cost management, security, schema evolution, and data provenance.
• Partner with senior engineers on architecture across Snowflake, Iceberg, streaming, orchestration, data contracts, schema governance, and platform interfaces.
• Replace one-off pipelines with shared standards, tooling, documentation, migration paths, and paved roads.
• Hire, develop, and grow a high-performing engineering team and future technical leaders.

Requirements

• Track record leading engineers responsible for production data infrastructure, distributed systems, developer platforms, infrastructure, or similarly critical systems.
• Strong technical judgment in event streaming and CDC, warehouses and lakehouses, orchestration, schema evolution, data modeling, and distributed-system failure modes.
• Experience working with telemetry, events, files, devices, hardware, edge environments, regulated systems, or other heterogeneous data sources.
• At least 5 years of management experience in manufacturing, semiconductors, hardware, robotics, autonomy, industrial systems, test and measurement, or edge computing.
• Experience scaling a data or infrastructure platform from an early system into a broadly adopted internal product.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, FedRAMP, CMMC, or other security-sensitive and regulated environments.
• Experience building hiring and onboarding systems and developing senior engineers into Staff+ engineers or managers.
