Onboard Map Expansion Technical Lead Manager (Autonomous Driving)

Location: On site in Mountain View, California or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $251,000–$310,000 USD per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement horizontal solutions for behavioral driving issues in new cities and service areas.
• Build quantitative evaluation techniques to support data-driven development.
• Develop technology and APIs that improve driving robustness to map correctness and availability.
• Work with leads and technical lead managers across the organization.
• Collaborate with Mapping, Product, and the broader Onboard stack.

Requirements

• PhD, master's, or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets.
• Experience solving design problems spanning multiple components.
• Experience with high-quality API design, evaluation, and data-driven techniques.

Nice to have

• Experience in autonomous driving, including motion planning or perception.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Experience contributing to scalable evaluation workflows and building metrics for machine learning models.
